- Asset, material and existing condition
- Unwanted layer, defect or intervention need
- Required outcome and downstream activity
- Area, geometry, access and programme constraints

## Options considered
Record each viable subsea, mechanical, abrasive, chemical, water-based, laser, coating or combined method.

For each option assess:
- Technical suitability and limitations
- Safety and environmental controls
- Access, utilities and mobilisation
- Containment, waste and clean-down
- Production assumptions and programme interfaces
- Inspection, acceptance and handover evidence
- Whole-work-package cost and lifecycle value

## Decision
- Selected route and engineering rationale
- Trial, demonstration or readiness checks required
- Approval authority
- Assumptions, exclusions and residual risks

**Evidence rule:** No method is represented as suitable until the required verification gates have been completed.
